What facilities are available?
Old York features a Gary Player Signature Course that has been ranked in the Top Ten in New Jersey by Golf Digest. Stunning topography changes, creeks, wetlands, forests and a myriad of shot making opportunities await every level of golfer. A true feeling of privacy abounds as the golf course harkens back to the days of old with no houses located along the course. Gary Player and his design team sculpted a breathtaking 6,903-yard golf course that uniquely blends the natural landscape of a former 180-acre equestrian estate with the exacting standards of world-class course design.
With five tee positions, golfers of all skill levels will enjoy the strategic course design, offering traps and challenges that meld with the natural terrain, creating a course-scape that respects and celebrates the integrity of the land.
GOLF PRACTICE & TEACHING FACILITIES
Old York features a multi-tiered driving range with dramatic elevation change. Alongside is a short game practice facility, allowing for almost every shot imaginable from 50 yards and in. Our PGA professional staff is available for group and private lessons for all levels.
Our new state of the art simulator is available to rent by members of the club. Use as a practice range mode or play the top golf courses around the world.
The centerpiece of Old York’s amenities is a junior Olympic pool in a classic and tranquil setting. Accompanied by a covered patio for poolside food and beverage service. Children enjoy our kiddie pool, jungle gym and play area. Members also enjoy air conditioned pool locker rooms. Old York’s pool setting is a private get away for its members and guests.
CLUBHOUSE & CLUB DINING
Old York’s Clubhouse facilities feature an architectural tribute to the former equestrian stables with a low profile influence and preservation of its former stallion stables and barns. Members enjoy Men and Ladies’ locker facilities, fully-stocked pro shop and a Mixed Grille and Patio overlooking the 18th hole. Mixed Grille and Patio are the hub for member enjoyment pre- and post-golf. This comfortable “Cheers” type venue features pub-style seating a fireplace and a gracious 15-seat bar with TV’s available from every angle.
Old York Members enjoy formal dining experiences through our varied social events sprinkled throughout the year. Social events are held in our formal Dining Room and Bar, and additional covered Patio overlooking the back nine and ponds.
Old York features conference facilities and stunning banquet facilities located in one of the renovated equestrian barns on the property. The Ballroom and adjacent covered Patio overlook the back nine and fountain-filled ponds.
Before signing up for Membership, can I “test drive” the Golf Course and Club facilities?
Yes. Our Club has “Preview Day” whereby you and your family can play the golf course and/or use the Club’s amenities and dining facilities. Member-for-a-day privileges are arranged through our General Manager or Pro Shop. Member-for-a-day programs do require a fee, yet that fee is credited toward your first year dues should you elect to join the Club as a member.
Is Old York Country Club an equity or non-equity club and what is the difference between an equity club and a non equity club?
Old York Country Club is a privately owned non-equity club. An equity club is owned by the Members. Members are, therefore, assessed for all capital improvements and revenue shortfalls. A non-equity club is typically owned by a single individual or corporation. Members are not assessed for capital improvements and/or revenue shortfalls at a non equity club.
Are there Assessments?
No. Unlike equity clubs, Old York Country Club does not assess their Members.
How do you sign up for Membership?
Our General Manager can walk you through the details and application for Membership.
Are there monthly food minimums?
Old York Country Club does require annual expenditures for food and beverage from each of its Social and Full Golf Members.
What type of Member events are planned for Social & Golf Members?
Old York Country Club features an active Social Calendar with live music, movie nights at the pool. Memorial and Labor Day pool parties. brunch with Santa, along with special themed buffets for Thanksgiving, Easter, Mother’s Day and more!
What do Activity Fees cover?
Activity Fees are paid by each Member and are used to subsidize golf and social events in the form of extra food and beverage and special entertainment.
Is there an Initiation Fee, Bond or other upfront fee required to join the Club?
At this time there are no Initiation Fees or Bonds.
Is there a committee of Members which meets with Club management?
Yes. Old York Country Club in many ways operates much like an equity Club with several Member Committees including a Social Committee, Golf Committee, Greens Committee and Advisory Board. Each Committee meets with Club Management on a periodic basis to provide Member feedback, plan events and in general help ‘“steer” the Club.
Does the Club limit the number of Members?
Yes. The number of Members in each category is limited based on the capacity of the facilities as judged by the Club. The Club offers multiple levels of Membership to give it the flexibility of better managing peak tee time and other facility usage periods.
Are there special events or programs for kids?
Yes, all year long. Old York Country Club has specific kids-themed special events for children. Kids Movie nights at the Pool, Easter Egg Hunt, Brunch with Santa, and holiday pool activities including Face Painting, Balloon Experts and more.
